Safety: Talk to doctor if pregnant, breastfeeding or on medications. Bacopa monnieri is considered safe for most people, although nausea and diarrhea have been reported. Due to a lack of toxicology studies, use of this herb is not recommended during pregnancy. In theory, this herb may increase the effects of certain medications, including drugs to treat glaucoma and Alzheimer's disease. In addition, this herb may interact with the analgesic drug amitriptyline.
